Samatus, the Feline Jester

A feline jester serving Aether and having previously trained under the old court fool, Samatus - better known as Sam - is a prickly, rather mean sort of cat.
He lives within the palace, in a surprisingly luxurious little fool's quarter.
He often dines on fish dishes and milk, and has no problem eating the same meal for years on end.
He and Aether are rather close, despite their opposite personalities, and Sam does not hesitate to tell Aether the brutal truth when applicable.
Being the court fool gives Sam quite a bit of lee-way when it comes to respect and polite society.
Thus, many nobles are aware of his tricksy and oft-meanspirited nature.
